Alden loves April fool’s day. She anticipates it for weeks and even months. She had long been planning to prank her little brother, and yesterday morning, as breakfast was prepared, the trap was set. Let’ see if you are more observant than a three year old.
Coming to the table, August was, at first, delighted. Frosted mini wheats are a rare treat. This was his lucky day.
But, upon further investigation, something seemed amiss.
Downright alarming, even.
But then we explained the ruse. August is seldom persuaded by reasonable arguments. But, this time, he seemed to get it.
He had been fooled.
And there was nothing he could do about it.
We all had a good laugh, especially Alden.
As for August, he is officially on guard against further mischief on the part of his big sister.
There’s a lot more April Fools Days ahead. And there’s a lot more fake fruit in that set.
