First, it was Alden, two years ago, who stepped into the dojang in her tiny dobak to rumble with the bigger kids while learning the basics of Tang Soo Do.
Now Alden has graduated to a more colorful belt and August has taken her place as the smallest kid on the mat.
Smallest by a LOT.
And though he lacks the killer instinct, he’s totally game to give it a try.
He might not always face the right direction during drills.
But he does show a promising enthusiasm for the bullfrog jump.
We head in this afternoon for lesson #3. Will let you know how it goes.
If any of you out there are looking for a fun, healthy, productive activity for your kids (and a community of extremely nice folks), I can’t say enough good things about Eastern Shore Tang Soo Do, run by Robbi’s former dance partner Mark Pagano. He’s happy to have kids stop by to try it out. Here’s the site.
